Experience World Cup Luge!
December 5-10, 2011
The Canadian Luge Association and the Whistler Sliding Centre will be hosting the 2nd Viessmann Luge World Cup of the 2011/2012 season from December 5th-10th, 2011. The Race Organizing Committee is seeking volunteers to fill various positions during the events.
• VIP Hosts and Hostesses – the friendly faces of the VIP Lounge. Responsible for greeting our guests upon arrival and ensuring that they have the best World Cup experience possible.
Available Shifts:
Friday December 9th: 1:30pm-10:00pm 2-3 required
Saturday December 10th: 1:30pm-10:00pm 2-3 required
• Spectator Hosts and Hostesses – providing Front line information and guidance for our valued spectators. Helping with spectator flow in, around and out of the venue.
Available Shifts:
Friday December 9th: 1:30pm-10:00pm 4-5 required
Saturday December 10th: 1:30pm-10:00pm 4-5 required
• Marketing Assistants – poster/ticket distribution
Available Shifts:
Flexible, between now and event time 2-3 required
• Security – responsible for checking accreditations at various points within the venue
Available Shifts:
Friday December 9th: 1:30pm-9:00pm 5 required
Saturday December 10th: 1:30pm-8:00pm 5 required
• Doping – act as an Athlete escort during the Doping Control process.
Available Shifts:
Friday December 9th: 2 x Men required from 3:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday December 10th: 1 x Woman required from 3:00pm-6:00pm
• Race Office – main point of contact for all athletes, coaches and officials. Also responsible for Team Captain’s Meetings. Seeking volunteers with administrative experience.
Available Shifts:
Various day time and evening shifts available between Monday December 5th and Saturday December 10th
- 2 volunteers per day
• Ticketing Volunteers – first point of contact for all spectators as will-call volunteers, assistance with way-finding, and/or checking tickets at venue entrance and at the Excalibur Gondola.
Available Shifts:
Friday December 9th: 1:30-7:00pm 3 required
1:30-8:00pm 4 required
Saturday December 10th: 2:00-6:00pm 3 required
2:00-7:00pm 4 required
All volunteers will receive a meal voucher for each shift that is worked, PLUS official event merchandise!
