Emily was inspired to take up the sport of luge after watching it on TV during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and wanted to give it a try. Luckily with the world-leading facilities in her home city of Calgary, she participated in a recruitment camp and never looked back.
Now competing in her fifth season in the sport, Emily comes from a strong sport background where she has excelled in baseball, gymnastics, basketball and swimming. When not doing sports, Emily enjoys sketching, painting, photography and baking. When finished with luge Emily would like to do something in the travel and leisure industry.

Gold in 2011 Canada Cup and Bronze in 2011 Youth Canadian Championships.
