Background: Arianne got her start in luge following the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City when she attended a summer recruitment camp at Canada Olympic Park. Regularly fighting her way into the top-15 on the World Cup, the pint-sized slider made her Olympic debut in 2014 in Sochi, Russia where she finished 13th. Arianne built on that Olympic experience to shock the world during the 2014-15 season where she slid to the bronze medal at the World Cup in Calgary. It was a memorable day in Canadian luge history as Jones shared the podium with teammate, Alex Gough who finished second. An injury plagued start to the season, Arianne was back on the podium pathway in 2015-16 where she was part of Canada’s gold medal relay squad at the final World Cup of the season in Winterberg, Germany. A graduate of the Edge School in Calgary, Arianne enjoyed four solid seasons on the junior team, before making the jump onto the World Cup in 2010-11. While Arianne remains focused on returning to the Olympics in 2018, she also enjoys skiing, travelling, hiking, biking and swimming.
