MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY CANADIAN LUGE TEAM TO HOST MEDIA CONFERENCE TO KICK OFF 2006 WORLD CUP IN CALGARY

- Media Conference/Start Challenge set for December 6 at 11:30 a.m.—The Canadian Luge Team would like to invite news and sports media to the 3rd Annual Media Start Challenge to officially kick off the 2006 Viessmann Luge World Cup in Calgary, December 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the Ice House at Canada Olympic Park.

The entire Canadian Luge Team will be officially introduced and will also be doing a little coaching of their own for media in the fun start challenge.

Canada’s luge athletes are encouraging all media to take up the challenge, whether it’s internally with your colleagues or go up against a rival station or media outlet, and try your hand at luge. Canadian athletes will be paired up with media for a ‘friendly’ competition.

The Viessmann Luge World Cup, which takes place December 8-9, 2006 in Calgary, will feature free luge rides in the Ice House for the public, live entertainment by three local bands and a chance to win this Christmas’s hot-ticket item – a Sony Playstation 3. Kids will also have a chance to play Olympic Games at the Park on three big Sony screens.
