Canada Sweeps the Podium at Luge Junior World Cup #3

Canada Luge - Media ReleaseThe Junior men squad on Canada's National Luge Team picked up four medals at Junior World Cup competition in Sigulda, Latvia yesterday.

In the Junior Two Mens category (age 19 and under) Calgary's Kyle Connelly picked up the Gold followed by fellow Calgarians Grant Albrecht with the Silver and Mike Moffat's Bronze completing the
all-Canadian podium.

Connelly's Gold medal finish, added to his previous Silver and Bronze medals in earlier Junior World Cup competition, puts him in first place overall in Junior Two World Cup standings.

Picking up his third straight Gold in three races was Canada's premiere Junior One (age 16 and under) luger, Jeff Christie, also of Calgary. Christie has swept Gold in all Junior One World Cup events
this season and has now sewn up first place for the season in the Junior One category.

Sunday's medal count is added to the Bronze picked up in Saturday's Doubles competition where Grant Albrecht and Mike Moffat claimed third spot.

Next stop on the Junior World Cup circuit is Winterberg, Germany, with Junior World Cup IV running January 22 & 23 followed by Junior World Championships in Altenberg, Germany January 29 & 30.
