Luge Canada Statement on Passing of Mr. Frank King

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Olympic visionary – Frank King. One of Canadian sport’s greatest leaders, Mr. King provided thousands of Canadian youth with a playground to hop on a sled and chase our Olympic dreams. This winter, Canada’s luge athletes won its first two Olympic medals ever, thanks to the opportunities Mr. King has given us over the last three decades to discover, develop and excel in the sport. The track to the Olympic podium continues to go through Calgary and will well into the future thanks to Mr. King’s incredible vision. This is a sad day for the sport community who train and compete at Canada Olympic Park. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. King’s family and friends.”
