Kailey Allan
Women's Doubles
It was a summer camp at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park that introduced Kailey to the sport of luge when she was 10 years old. She got to try the sport and loved it right away. Kailey started sliding that next season and was in the development luge program for the next three seasons before joining the Next Generation Luge Team when she was 15.
She enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2019-20, qualifying to represent Canada at the Youth Olympic Games where she finished seventh just weeks after winning her first Junior World Cup race in Igls, Austria. Kailey’s most memorable moment on a track came in Igls. Her win solidified her spot for the Youth Olympics. She crashed in her first race and had little confidence heading into the final race. She put together two good runs and came away with her first victory. Listening to the anthem on the podium was a moment she will never forget.
She made a giant leap forward in 2024-25 while joining forces with Kailey Allan on a women’s double sled – a discipline that will debut at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Competing in their first major international race, the two played a critical role in Team Canada’s shocking bronze-medal triumph at the 2025 World Championships in the mixed relay on home ice at the Whistler Sliding Centre.
Kailey has always been very active. She played fast-pitch since she was 12 and continues to love her time playing ball. Also played soccer, swimming, hiking, skiing, volleyball, track and field and karate.
Did you Know… When not on the playing field, she’s been a background actor on a variety of commercials and television shows. She also completed in a couple of different categories in Destination Imagination – competing against people from around the world.
