Canadian Luge Team Opens Training Sessions at 2025 FIL Luge World Championships in Whistler

CALGARY—A team of 11 Canadian luge athletes led by three women from the Whistler, B.C. area will welcome the fastest athletes on ice to their home track this week at the Whistler Sliding Centre while playing host to the 53rd FIL Luge World Championships, Feb. 6-8.
 
More than 120 athletes representing 18 nations will blast down the 16-corner track that snakes down Blackcomb Mountain, chasing World Championship crowns in mixed events, women’s doubles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, men’s singles along with team relay racing.
 
Media are invited to attend the Canadian squad’s training sessions on February 4 at 9 a.m. PT and preliminary runs on February 5 at 10 a.m. PT.
 
Interviews will be conducted on the finishing dock, or by phone, at the conclusion of training.

Media Waiver:
All media attending the 2025 FIL Luge World Championships must fill out a waiver form to be on-site.
 
Broadcast Schedule:

Tickets:
Tickets for the event can be purchased for $10 in advance on LugeWorldChamps2025.Eventbrite.ca or for $15 at the Whistler Sliding Centre gate. Children 12 and under are free.
 
Access to Whistler Sliding Centre:
Limited media parking will be available. Public will have free access to the Whistler Sliding Centre venue via the Excalibur Gondola mid-station.
