Canadian Luge Athletes Gear Up for 2010
-Karbon to help steer nation's elite luge athletes to international podium

Media AdvisoryFresh off Regan Lauscher's historic World Cup silver-medal performance, Karbon has signed a six-year agreement with Canada's luge athletes to become the official clothing supplier, the Canadian Luge Association announced on Monday.

The first major sponsor for the Canadian luge program, Karbon will supply Canadian Luge Team athletes and coaches with all outerwear, race wear, training and casual apparel through to 2010 when the world will gather in Vancouver and beyond.

"We are thrilled to be have a Canadian company suit up our national team, and help guide them to more international podium performances," said Tim Farstad, director, Canadian Luge Association. "Karbon has been a dedicated supporter of our team for many years, and has provided the national program with the latest technology in clothing lines to help our athletes achieve excellence."

Karbon will provide leading-edge technical and race apparel that will help level the playing field for Canada's high-performance luge athletes. Extensive testing and development of the race suit will also be done to give Canadian luge athletes a competitive advantage against the world's best.

"As a Canadian company, it is our mandate to support the nation's top athletes at both the grassroots and elite levels," said Peter Schure, team and resort coordinator, Karbon. With the addition of luge, Karbon now supports 19 World Cup teams around the globe including six Canadian sport programs.
